Located in east Zhejiang province, Yinzhou district spans an area of 1,380 square kilometers. It hosts an advantageous location, as the new district is about 2 km away from Ningbo Lishe International Airport, and only a half hour drive to Beilun Port. Yinzhou has a population of 730,000.
The district has seen rapid development in its economy. It is home to more than 15,000 industrial organizations, including light textiles, garments, machinery, electronics, automobile parts and food.
In 2015 its GDP reached 135 billion yuan ($19.88 billion), an increase of 8.1 percent compared with the previous year. The per capita GDP is 156,000 yuan. The total financial revenue amounts to 31.27 billion yuan, up 6.9 percent. The total import and export volume has reached S14.69 billion, increasing by 0.3 percent over the previous year. The export volume totaled $12.31 billion, the import volume $2.38 billion.
More efforts are being made to promote industries such as precision machinery, information technology, textiles & garments, automobile parts and high-tech, as well as tourism.
The district has three industrial zones, Yinzhou Industrial Zone, Mingzhou Industrial Zone and Wangchun Industrial Zone. With a total planned area reaching 130 sq km, the three industrial zones provide strong support for the district’s sustainable economic development.
