The opening ceremony of this year's Ningbo Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference began on April 7, starting the annual two sessions of Ningbo, Zhejiang.The Ningbo People's Congress, the other part of the two sessions, is scheduled to begin from April 9.

The people's congress will last five and a half days and deputies will actively offer suggestions and advice for the city's development. This year, the congress will elect the director of Ningbo's discipline inspection and supervision department, as well as discuss several regulations. An oath-taking ceremony for newly-elected city leaders will also be held.

The Ningbo Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, also scheduled to last five and a half days, will contain 28 conferences. One of the main tasks for this year's conference is to elect a new chairman, vice chairman, secretary-general and members of its next standing committee.
