An exhibition of glass sculptures by 19 artists from Central and Eastern Europe opened to the public in the Binhai Development Zone of Cixi, Ningbo city on April 18.

The exhibition, scheduled to remain open until April 20, showcases 53 classic pieces of glass works to local residents and presents the top-notch techniques in casting, carving and other steps of the manufacturing process.

You Yaoming, curator of Wuxi Greenwave Art Gallery, said the exhibition in Cixi includes the work of some of the best glass sculptors from across the world, especially those from Central and Eastern European regions. He was deeply impressed by the wonderful masterpieces.

"This cultural exchange lays a foundation for international cooperation," said Mao Mengjun, director of the management committee of Binhai Development Zone.

The exhibition is one of the Zone's strategies to promote internationalization, according to Mao. Binhai, based on the industrial parks under the joint efforts of China and other countries, is striving to boost opening-up and international cooperation for a better economy and to attract prosperous industries.
