Plastics expo closes with deals signed

The 19th China Plastics Expo came to an end in Yuyao, Zhejiang province on Nov 11, achieving a total transaction volume of 3.8 billion yuan ($571.6 million).

The expo was divided into three main exhibition areas and occupied a total area of 42,000 square meters. With a total of 2,000 booths, it attracted 427 companies from home and abroad to promote their plastic products, including a few big names like Sinopec and PetroChina.

The exhibition received 26,500 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent, according to the organizing committee.

In addition to the product displays, the plastics expo also organized assorted exchange activities from Nov 8 to 11. A main forum, three parallel sessions and 29 lectures provided opportunities for company managers and industry experts to share insights regarding to the development of plastics.

Scholars from renowned local universities such as Zhejiang University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology and East China University of Science and Technology had discussions on technical patents, commercialization of research findings and talent training.

Nine big deals related to high-end projects in some advanced industries such as new materials, smart robots and cloud services were signed during the expo, bringing in a total investment of 4.45 billion yuan to Yuyao.
