Ningbo joins hands with Finnish region for intellectual support

Ningbo and Satakunta, a region in the European country of Finland announced to further their cooperation by setting up an exchange platform for talent and technologies at a conference in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Dec 8.
According to the census reached by the two sides, Finland is going to provide high-end intellectual support for Ningbo to fulfill its role as a pilot zone for the development of "Made in China 2025" via the platform.
Finland is a widely recognized innovative country that possesses a large amount of high-caliber professionals and advanced technologies. The region of Satakunta, renowned for its advanced manufacturing industry, is the country's most important part for the research and development of innovative sectors. Ulvila, a city in Satakunta, is considered as one of the four major European clusters in automated robotics.
Ningbo signed a framework agreement with Satakunta in November last year, after which, the two regions have been seeking cooperation and exchange opportunities in different fields such as talent, education, trade, and science and technology.
The conference on Dec 8 witnessed a full-swing beginning of the bilateral relationship. They also proposed to establish a working system for future communications.
A group of Finnish experts will go to Ningbo to provide suggestions and advice for the development of local companies. The relationship between Ningbo and Satakunta is expected to boost the ties between the two countries.
