More than 370 top experts from a variety of industries such as aerospace, integrated circuitry and new materials gathered to discuss the relationship between innovation and overseas talents at the First China (Ningbo) Global Experts Summit in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on March 20.

A diverse crowd of academics, researchers and entrepreneurs from China and abroad gave a range of different views on the importance of talents at the meeting.

According to Li Peigen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the reason China introduces overseas experts is to make more innovations.

These talents can play an active role in constructing society's innovative ability, Li pointed out.

An Conghui, president of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, also believes that innovative overseas talents are key to an enterprise's development.

At present, Geely Group has more than 80,000 employees around the world, of whom 18,000 are foreigners from over 40 countries, according to An.

Geely now has four design centers and four R&D centers worldwide, gathering 3,000 top auto industry talents from 30 countries and boasting the most vigorous innovation and unique engineering culture.

Based on its world-wide talent pool and flow, and its cultivation of international leadership, Geely is constructing a corporate culture adapted to global development, An added.

It is the high-end talents who bring good innovations into reality and cooperation among talents is the only way to create a better future, according to Marco Venturini, winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award and a world-known expert in the motion control field.

"Over the past decades, I promoted the development of automation to improve people's lives, which actually benefits from the cooperation of top talents around the world," claimed Venturini.
