A group of international visitors showed strong interest in Chinese folk activities at a festive fair in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on April 8.

Panhuoqiao community in Yinzhou district arranged a variety of activities and services related to traditional arts and culture, including tai chi, tea art, tuina (a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine physical therapy) and haircut Sunday.

Most of the services were free to the public and visitors showed appreciation for Chinese culture by trying their hands at musical instruments, wearing traditional costumes and doing embroidery.

Ron Pfeiffer and Kinda Arksey, two internationally certified tai chi instructors, led a global delegation of tai chi enthusiasts to Ningbo to carry out comprehensive exchanges. At the fair, the delegates practiced the Chinese martial art under the guidance of local master Zhu Hanfei, and also shared their perspectives on the development of tai chi.

Ningbo, a pivotal city for trade and cultural exchanges along the Belt and Road, has been an attractive destination for foreigners. With the help of social media and its abundant cultural resources, Ningbo is improving its environment for inbound investment, tourism and transnational exchanges.
