Ningbo to further promote internationalization

Ningbo in Zhejiang province released an agenda on June 4 that contained 20 key tasks for the promotion of the city's internationalization this year.

Covering a variety of industrial areas, the plan addresses internationalization with the construction of a trade center, the development of competitive ports, and the internationalization of living systems.

The 20 outlined objectives are as follows:

1. To advance the growth of foreign trade

2. To strengthen the development of cross-border e-commerce

3. To attract further businesses and investment

4. To further fulfill duties associated with being a national demonstration zone for "Made in China 2025"

5. To accelerate the internationalization of finance

6. To promote the construction of a comprehensive pilot zone for China's Belt and Road Initiative

7. To deepen cooperative ties with Central and Eastern European countries

8. To establish Ningbo-Zhoushan Port as a pivotal world-class modern transportation hub

9. To accelerate the construction of a national airport economic demonstration zone

10. To further comprehensive efforts in opening-up, coordinated development and innovation

11. To introduce distinguished international talents and startup teams

12. To boost educational cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative

13. To advance international cultural exchange and cooperation

14. To internationalize the tourism sector

15. To advance construction of international communities

16. To further internationalize medical care

17. To create a constructive environment supporting international languages

18. To improve administrative efficiency in all foreign affairs

19. To expand a network of colleagues and friends through sister-city partnerships

20. To strengthen international publicity
