Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province signed agreements on 73 projects with companies from home and abroad at an international investment and cooperation symposium on June 8.
These projects, with a total investment of over $20 billion, cover a variety of advanced industries such as intelligent manufacturing, information technology, energy, new materials and biomedicine. These industries are considered vital to the transformation and upgrading of Ningbo's industrial structure.
Among the 73 projects, 49 are from domestic companies and 24 are funded by foreign capital.
Li Guanding, vice mayor of Ningbo further promoted the city's favorable business environment in his speech at the symposium. Seven guests from different areas of business shared their views on the investment and cooperation opportunities in Ningbo.
In a move to encourage inward investment for local businesses, Qiu Dongyao, mayor of Ningbo, appointed 103 outstanding entrepreneurs as "ambassadors of business attraction". The Ningbo government hopes these people can help introduce more high-caliber talents and more quality resources to develop the city.
