Young people from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan gathered at a forum in Ningbo July 9 to exchange ideas on the development of the cultural and creative industries.

"How to explore history and how to repackage traditional culture are key to the development of cultural and creative industries," said a businessman from Taiwan.

Participants voiced their views on Ningbo's historic and cultural elements that can be used for economic purposes, such as the story of the Butterfly Lovers and the ten-mile red dowry. They thought these old things might be popular creative and cultural products in today's society.
