Ningbo Yinzhou No.2 Hospital recently passed the HIMSS O-EMRAM (Outpatient) Level 7 appraisal for its advanced application of information technology in medical treatment and management. 

The HIMSS EMRAM appraisal was conducted by HIMSS Analytics, a US non-profit company dedicated to assisting global healthcare providers in achieving best in the industry, and was used to evaluate the maturity of a hospital's IT construction. Level 7 is the highest level. 

Having passed the HIMSS EMRAM (Inpatient) Level 7 appraisal last year, the hospital is now the first in the province and fourth in the nation to have passed the two appraisals. 

Its information-based disease management center amazed evaluation experts with all kinds of wearable medical devices that can be used by patients with chronic diseases for self-checks at home. 

The data from patients' self-checks will be synchronized with the hospital's health management platform via the internet, where doctors will be able to provide appropriate medical suggestions and treatment to the patients based on the data.

The hospital has realized the goal of making all medical records electronic over recent years, laying a solid foundation for the formation of a large healthcare database.

By applying IT technologies, doctors in the hospital are able to provide better clinical care for patients by obtaining, analyzing and evaluating the health conditions of patients more quickly and learning about the trends and characteristics of diseases.

"Passing the HIMSS EMRAM Level 7 appraisals marks a new starting point for us," said Weng Guobin, director of the hospital, adding that they will continue to explore more applications for artificial intelligence and big data in every aspect of the hospital in order to better serve patients and doctors.
