Ningbo Software Park in Ningbo High-Tech Zone has achieved remarkable results made over the past few months since it opened last September, greatly boosting the city's software industry, local media reported. 

With seven investment promotion meetings held, altogether 132 companies have settled in the park, with a total registered capital of 3.9 billion yuan ($579 million), among which three hit 100 million yuan in company assets. 

Half of them focus on information technologies and over one third work on internet services, internet of things, cloud computing and big data applications. 

Ningbo launched the scheme of building a characteristic renowned Chinese software city last year to support its role as the first pilot city for the implementation of "Made in China 2025", a national plan focusing on the promotion of the domestic manufacturing sector. Ningbo Software Park plays a key part in the scheme. 

According to the plan of Ningbo High-Tech Zone, the park shall introduce over 50 companies with assets of more than 100 million yuan each and over 300 industry-leading entrepreneurs by 2022.

In addition, 15 service platforms for software innovation and 20 key research institutions shall be established, and the park's revenue in software and information services shall hit 80 billion yuan by 2022, or 50 percent of the city's total.
