Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province aims higher and becomes more confident in recruiting talent from different fields in 2019 as the city made unprecedented achievements in its talent work last year.

An official from the Ningbo Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said that in order to attract more professionals for the city's development, the department will continue organizing job fairs nationwide this year, which proved effective in 2018.

The official said job fairs around the country serve as platforms for Ningbo to introduce its talent policies and business environment, making the city more acceptable for people not previously familiar to it.

In addition to job fairs, the government will also arrange matchmaking activities for specific companies, especially those from Ningbo's key industries and job seekers with professional skills, according to the official.

Government departments at different levels in the city have established partnerships with over 20 universities, colleges and human resources agencies in other regions for better exchanges with would-be inbound talents.

In 2018, Ningbo successfully attracted over 210,000 talents, up 9.8 percent year on year. The net inflow rate of talents in the city was 9.17 percent last year, second among all Chinese cities, statistics from the job-hunting company Liepin showed. One year ago, the city ranked around 20th.
