The children's choir from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, won a golden diploma-level 1 award for children at an international choir competition held in Princeton, the United States, on Feb 18.

The competition was hosted by the Interkultur Foundation, the initiator of the World Choir Games, the largest global choral festival and competition, and saw the participation of choirs from many countries and regions across the world.

The Ningbo Children's Choir beat off competition from nearly 20 choirs by singing three outstanding songs in Chinese, Russian and Hungarian.

It is the third time that the choir, established two years ago, has won an international gold award, with the previous two awards seized at the Hong Kong World Youth Chorus Competition in 2017 and the National Chorus Art Festival in 2018.

During their stay in Princeton, the choir also visited several famous universities and colleges, including the Westminster Choir College, one of the world’s leading music schools.
