The Shanhe Program was initiated by the Ningbo Shanyuan Philanthropic Foundation in 2017 to encourage young people to pursue their startup dreams and fulfill their social responsibilities. This year's competition will focus on projects in multiple social fields such as youth education and health, energy conservation, care for special groups and traditional cultural protection.

This year's event will cover not only college students, the participants in the previous event, but young people from all walks of life, and an additional 1.4 million yuan ($208,498) will be awarded to the winners.

In addition, the newly-established alliance will provide capital, talents and educational resources needed during and after the competition.

With great importance attached to students' entrepreneurship and innovation development, NCHS has had many of its students win prizes in city or provincial level entrepreneurship competitions in recent years, such as a silver prize in the fourth Zhejiang Internet plus College Student Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition.
