Residents of Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province can now experience Polish culture at the Polish Culture Season, which opened in the city on March 31.

The activity, co-hosted by the culture department of the Polish Embassy in China and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, is intended to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Poland.

"This is my first time to Ningbo, one of the most important cities where diverse cultures communicate with each other. I'm impressed by the hospitality of local residents," said Mr. Jan Jerzy Malicki, executive director of the culture department of the Polish Embassy in China, at the opening ceremony.

A series of cultural and artistic activities will be held at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza until April 25, including an illustration exhibition, concert, piano lecture and several painting and language salons.

The illustration exhibition is a highlight of the event – 40 of the most celebrated Polish illustrations will be exhibited for the first time in China.
