Ningbo researcher selected as Ukrainian academy's foreign member

Yang Weiyou, a researcher from the Ningbo University of Technology, was honored by the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine as one of its foreign members on May 20. 

The Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine is one of the top academic institutions in Ukraine, with members of its presidium all being academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 

Yang is one of the only two Chinese members of the academy. 

With a bachelor's and a master's degree in materials science from Central South University and a PhD from Tsinghua University, Yang has been working for Ningbo University of Technology since 2006.

He has been receiving special government allowance from the State Council since 2012 and has won many science and technology awards at the city, provincial and national levels.

Yang also established a research team on micro-nano structure and equipment at the university, with nine PhD candidates as its core members.
