A seminar on economic and technological cooperation between Ningbo and the Czech Republic was held in Prague on May 23, as a part of the recent trip to the republic made by a Zhejiang business delegation led by Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang.

Hosted by the provincial government of Zhejiang, the seminar welcomed around 210 representatives from China and the Czech Republic, including government officials, entrepreneurs and business organization leaders.

Zhejiang province has established closer partnerships with Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) including the Czech Republic in recent years by leveraging its advantages in port economy, international trade, digital economy and business resources, said Che in his speech at the seminar.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Czech diplomatic relations. The fruitful meeting between both State heads at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing last month charted the course for both sides and created significant opportunities for the cooperation between Zhejiang and the Czech Republic, added Che.

Che expressed hopes that both Zhejiang and the republic will push the bilateral cooperation in industry, trade, logistics and culture to a new height, and seek win-win results.

Qiu Dongyao, mayor of Ningbo, introduced the investment climate of the city at the seminar, including the establishment of a China-CEEC economic and trade cooperation zone, and the first China-CEEC National Expo to be held next month.
