An alliance of medical academicians in the Yangtze River Delta region will be established in Zhenhai district, Ningbo, in Zhejiang province, according to a news conference held by local authorities on July 15.

The alliance will be composed of nine members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering who specialize in the medical field.

It will help improve the district's medical research and treatment by attracting top quality medical resources and talent, said Liu Liqun, deputy head of the district.

Liu added that summit forums will be regularly organized to offer advice on local medical development. Grassroots medical workers will be trained in high-end medical institutions to improve their professional skills. 

In addition, communications platforms will be set up between medical academicians, talent and companies to enhance cooperation and improve the medical services in the whole YRD region, Liu added.
