The first container line connecting Ningbo in Zhejiang province and Yantai in Shandong province recently opened, with the first container ship from Yantai arriving at a dock in Zhenhai district of Ningbo on Aug 2.

The route, managed by Yantai Port, will operate once a week and will be dedicated to the improvement of marine logistics and the reduction of costs for enterprises, in order to boost trade between Zhejiang and Shandong.

The harbor district in Zhenhai, an important area for domestic container shipping business under the jurisdiction of Ningbo-Zhoushan port, is located at the meeting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. It currently has more than 10 domestic container shipping routes, including the Ningbo-Guangzhou route.

Yantai Port, located in the center of the international economic circle in Northeast Asia, is a major port in China.
