The output of industrial enterprises above designated size (defined as state-owned and non-state-owned industrial companies with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan) in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province stood at 222.99 billion yuan ($33.28 billion) from January to July, up by 5.1 percent year-on-year, according to local authorities.

According to the Ningbo municipal bureau of statistics, of the city's 35 industries, 28 posted added-value growth over the period. Chemistry, computer communication and electrical machinery sectors saw increases of 18.1 percent, 14.6 percent and 10.5 percent respectively.

The added-value of small industrial companies was 70.41 billion yuan over the past seven months, an increase of 6.9 percent, outpacing large and medium-sized companies.

The result largely lies in measures which the country has rolled out to ease taxes and fees on companies as well as the local government's sustained efforts to optimize business climate, experts said.

Profits also experienced rapid growth. In the first half of this year, profits of small industrial companies above designated size in Ningbo totaled 14.52 billion, up 16.3 percent.
