Expo focuses on smart city and intelligent economy

The 2019 World Digital Economy Conference & ninth China Smart City and Intelligent Economy Expo were held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province from Sept 6-8.

Covering an area of nearly 30,000 square meters, the expo attracted more than 400 tech companies and research institutes across the world, including China Mobile, Huawei, ZTE, Baidu and Aux. 

A wide range of high-tech products in the sectors such as 5G, smart home, driverless vehicles and artificial intelligence were displayed at the expo. 

The expo has now become a significant platform for promoting cooperation and exchanges in smart city construction and intelligent economy in China. 

In 2018, the output of core digital economy industries in Ningbo reached 68.8 billion yuan ($10.2 billion), representing a yearly growth of 8.7 percent.

Sectors including 5G, electronic information manufacturing, software and information services, and artificial intelligence are on the rise in the city.
