Five paintings crafted by Ningbo artists to be showcased in Beijing
293 paintings spanning eight pavilions and 6,000 square meters are being displayed in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province.
The exhibition, featuring paintings from across the country made using a wide range of materials, is part of the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts.
The National Exhibition of Fine Arts, held every five years, is organized by the China Artists Association and is one of the most influential art shows in the country.
Among the 293 paintings, 22 were made by artists from Ningbo. Five have been selected for the final show, and two – Source Code Confident Country by Qiu Jichuan and When Zhuangzi Meets Kafka by Wei Huidong – have been nominated for awards.
The final show, slated to be held in Beijing this December, will feature paintings, prints, sculptures, photos, installations and other mixed media works produced in China over the past five years.
A panel from the National Exhibition of Fine Arts will award gold, silver and bronze medals to 40 different artworks.
