Ninghai county of Ningbo was recently designated a national "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zone, local media reported.

China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism earlier this month released the first batch of "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones, which integrate tourism resources in order to push forward the comprehensive development of the industry.

China's tourism authority issued guidelines to develop "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones in 2017 in order to improve tourism competitiveness and service quality.

The demonstration zones should have high standards of governance, extensive tourism products and services, and active public participation, according to the guidelines.

As a national ecological county, tourism has emerged as a pillar industry in Ninghai, providing 51,000 jobs and contributing 7.26 percent of the city's GDP.

The city has also established the province's first tourism big data center, which helps to manage visitor traffic and scenic attractions across the area.

The idea of "all-for-one" tourism was first mentioned in 2017 in the government work report to cater to the country's growing demand for tourism products and services and facilitate the economic transition.

A total of 71 districts, counties and units were included in the list, according to the ministry, including Jinggangshan city in Jiangxi province, Huairou district in Beijing and Yixian county in Huangshan, Anhui province.

The ministry said the first batch of "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones was selected in accordance with relevant guidelines in order to implement China's 13th Five-Year Plan for tourism development.
