Ningbo in eastern Zhejiang province received more than 10 million tourists during the seven-day National Day holiday starting from Oct 1, up 4.67 percent year on year, local tourism authorities said.

Tourism revenue during the period was roughly seven billion yuan ($1,044.7 million), a year-on-year increase of 3.73 percent, according to the city's tourism development department.

Parent-child tours, red tours, and countryside tours all saw significant growth over last year.

Dongqian Lake, Cicheng Ancient Town, and Xiangshan Studio remained the top destinations for visitors, and a series of activities in celebration of National Day, including light shows and parades, proved popular as well.
