Intl shipping logistics fair kicks off in Ningbo

The 3rd China (Ningbo) International Shipping Logistics Fair & 2019 Belt and Road International Port Conference commenced in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 14, local media reported.

Around 3,000 guests including exhibitors and business representatives from 18 countries have come to the city to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as port economy as well as to seek business opportunities.

The international logistics center funded by Maersk, a Danish business conglomerate specializing in transportation, logistics and energy, will be unveiled during the 2019 Belt and Road International Port Conference.

With an investment of about 600 million yuan ($89.5 million), the center, situated in Meishan bonded port area in Ningbo, will be Maersk's first automatic international logistics sorting and distribution center in China.

Meanwhile, a series of roundtables, forums as well as matchmaking sessions attended by nearly 100 companies in the home appliance, auto part, textile and logistics sectors are also on the agenda.

An official from the Ningbo Customs noted that the fair will provide more opportunities and convenience for Ningbo local enterprises, especially private enterprises, to expand their overseas markets.
