The inaugural Dongqian Lake Development Forum & 2019 Ningbo Dongqian Lake Investment Climate Promotion Conference were held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 20, local media reported.

More than 100 company representatives attended the events and signed eight deals worth a total of 18.2 billion yuan ($2.7 billion).

Dongqian Lake, located in southeastern Yinzhou district, Ningbo, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Zhejiang province with a water surface area of 20 square kilometers. The lake has been a famous scenic spot in eastern Zhejiang since ancient times.

The lake is being developed as part of the city's efforts to expand urban area, improve urban functionality, and increase the overall quality of life in the city.

Conference attendees, including Wu Zhiqiang, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared their insights into boosting high-quality economic growth in areas surrounding Dongqian Lake and expand its international influence.
