Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province recently unveiled its plan to become an international consumption city.

According to the plan, the city is poisoned to be a national import consumer goods distribution hub, a shopping center in the Yangtze River Delta, and a provincial consumption facilitation demonstration city.

By 2021, Ningbo aims to increase the total retail sales of consumer goods in the city to 530 billion yuan ($79.1 billion), an average annual growth of over 8 percent and an uptick of 27.5 percent from 2018.

According to the plan, the city will build a distribution network for imported goods in China, making it a top choice for consumer goods entering China from CEEC countries.

The import volume of consumer goods in Ningbo is expected to maintain an average annual growth of over 30 percent and reach 36 billion by 2021, while the figure for cross-border e-commerce trade is expected to reach $24 billion, an annual growth of over 17 percent.

The city also aims to build Sanjiangkou commercial block into an international first-class landmark core business circle, expand the number of brand chain convenience stores to 1,450, and create one national level and over six provincial-level high-quality pedestrian streets.

Ningbo will leverage the "future community" construction as an opportunity to create a reasonable, safe and convenient consumption environment.
