A glass over-water sightseeing footpath, the first of its kind in China, will open to the public around Jan 1, 2020 after four years of construction, local media reported.

The footpath, situated in Hangzhou Bay Cross-Sea Bridge Scenic Area in Ningbo, spans a length of 42.25 meters and covers a total area of 124 square meters, accommodating up to 100 people at once.

The footpath, which connects two sightseeing platforms, will also function as an escape route in case of emergency.
