China first hydrogen energy-themed exhibition hall opened in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 12, according to local media reports.
The exhibition hall will display products in the hydrogen energy industry and serve as a platform of exchange for enterprises in the sector, according to Tang Weibo, president of Trend Bank, investor and operator of the hall.
An exhibition featuring products from more than 20 companies from cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wuhan and Ningbo is currently underway in the venue.
At present, countries across the world are scrambling to develop new energy, including hydrogen.
Wang Liping, deputy head of Ningbo municipal bureau of energy, pointed out that educating people about hydrogen plays an important role in boosting the sector’s development, as most people in China still consider hydrogen to be a dangerous gas.
The establishment of the exhibition hall will increase awareness of both the risks and benefits of hydrogen, Wang said.
He added that hydrogen energy may become an important energy source in the 21st century and Ningbo has a good industrial base in the development of hydrogen energy.
