Ningbo businesspeople invest 31b yuan in hometown

A total of 26 projects with a combined investment of 31 billion yuan ($4.62 billion) were signed into effect in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Jan 7, according to local media reports. 

The projects were primarily funded by businesspeople from Ningbo and covered such sectors as auto parts, high-end equipment, new materials and biological medicine. 

Zheng Shanjie, Party secretary of the CPC Ningbo municipal Committee, attended the signing ceremony. 

He expressed gratitude to local businesspeople for their contributions to the hometown's development and pledged that the local government will further improve government services and optimize the city's business climate.
