The festive spirit is alive and well in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province as the city is gearing up for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

According to the Ningbo municipal bureau of city management, more than one million flower pots will be used to decorate Times Square, Century Avenue and the south square of the Ningbo railway station.

An exhibition of New Year's goods is also scheduled to be held at the Ningbo International Conference & Exhibition Center from Jan 12 to 19.

Notably, the organizing committee will release a total of 360 tons of reserved frozen pork into the market during the fair at a discount of over 10 percent lower than the market price.

Local residents will be able to purchase imported goods from more than 30 countries and regions across the world, including shrimp from Ecuador, crab from Chile, coffee from Malaysia, beef from Australia, chestnuts from Turkey, and red wine from France.

In addition, several traditional craftsmen will be invited to demonstrate their crafts.
