Seven villages in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province were recently listed as national villages for ecological and cultural development, according to local media reports.

Shilin village, situated in Dalan town, Yuyao city, was among them.

The village is renowned for the harmonious co-existence between human and nature. Old persimmon trees dyed red in autumn are a signature sight in the village.

An admission ticket to Shilin costs 80 yuan ($11.9) per person and also provides entry to the Danshan Chishui scenic attraction nearby.

Two other places in Ningbo won the provincial title for tourism development.

Maoyang town in Xiangshan county was recently designated as a Zhejiang provincial rural tourism industry cluster area.

The town's 120-meter Baiyanshan glass skywalk is the best place to overlook Xieqian port, which is home to 1,800 mu of mudflats and is a great spot for fishing.

Baoguo Temple in Ningbo was listed a provincial ecological tourism site by the Zhejiang provincial department of culture and tourism.

The temple, with a history of more than 2,000 years, is a cultural relic under state protection, a national second grade museum, and a national 4A scenic attraction.

The temple's Beisong hall is the oldest and most well-preserved wooden structure south of Yangtze River.
