Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang province, inspected Ningbo on Jan 31 to check local efforts in the control of the novel coronavirus, urging local authorities to take strict measures to ensure strong, orderly, and effective control of the virus.

Che visited the medical observation station and Chaoyang village in Zhenhai district, praising the station's humanistic services, such as food delivery by robots.

Blocking the infection source is the premise and foundation of effective virus control, said Che, urging local authorities to strengthen efforts to track those who are infected and improve isolation mechanisms to curb the spread of the virus.

Services should also be improved for those who are isolated for medical observation, so that they will support and cooperate with local government in disease control efforts, Che added.

Che also visited a local food market and supermarket to see if there were enough food supplies available at a reasonable price, urging the local market supervision department to strengthen regulation and crack down on such behaviors as increasing prices, hoarding and speculation, as well as selling fake products.

In addition, Che visited a local State-owned chemical company to urge the production of disinfectant as soon as possible, as well as visited several communities to see if the disease control measures have been effectively implemented.

The control of the virus is now in a key period, said Che, adding that many people will be soon returning to work and school, bringing greater challenges to the virus control efforts. Che urged all government departments to continue to take strict measures to battle against the virus.
