More than 70 percent of scenic attractions in Ningbo will reopen to the public by the end of this month, local tourism authorities said.

By the end of June, all scenic attractions will reopen, according to a plan rolled out by the Ningbo municipal bureau of culture, radio, film and tourism.

The move comes as part of the local government's efforts to help cultural and tourism enterprises, including scenic attractions, reopen safely and efficiently, as the epidemic has largely been brought under control in the city.

As of March 9, all patients diagnosed with novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) had recovered and been discharged from hospitals in Ningbo.

Since Feb 22, the city has been reopening A-level scenic attractions. Most have now been reopened, excluding those which are prone to cause crowds.

Visitors are required to show green health Codes, which indicates they have little possibility of being infected with the disease, and have their temperature taken before entering the scenic areas.

A recent report released by domestic online travel agency Ctrip shows that over 25 percent of scenic spots in China have resumed ticket reservations on the platform, including nearly 40 percent of 5A scenic spots.

Sanya leads the nation in terms of the number of reopened well-known scenic spots, followed by Suzhou, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Lishui, Chizhou, Nanjing, Wuxi and Taizhou.

Zhong Nanshan, China's leading epidemic control expert, pointed out that scenic spots are wide open spaces with plenty of fresh air, which is good for one's psychological well-being.

The scenic attractions including Dongqian Lake, Daren village, Ningbo Botanical Garden, Bamboo Forest in eastern Zhejiang and Shipu ancient town are popular tourism destinations for locals and visitors in Ningbo.
