Xiangshan Film and Television College to begin enrolling students

The first phase of Xiangshan Film and Television College recently finished construction and is gearing up for the new semester.

The college, affiliated with Ningbo University of Finance & Economics, is the first full-time university in Xiangshan, a county-level city in Ningbo, where the nation's second largest film and television studio is located.

The school, situated in Damuwan New City, covers an area of 350 mu (23.3 hectares) and cost one billion yuan ($144.9 million) in total.

It consists of two phases – the first phase is composed of a teaching complex, multi-purpose complex, dormitory building, gym, canteen and playground; the second phase is scheduled to complete construction in 2023. 

The school plans to enroll 4,000 full-time undergraduate students. 

There are eight undergraduate programs in the college - acting, radio and television directing, broadcasting and hosting arts, drama, film and television literature, animation, radio and television, advertising, editing and publishing. 

Meanwhile, the school has set up five higher vocational professions, including broadcasting and hosting, radio and television program production and photography and camera art.

The school comes as part of efforts by local authorities to develop Ningbo into a national film and television hub.
