Ningbo leads country in reforms
Ningbo led the country with 42 administrative reforms in 2019, according to incomplete statistics released by the reform office of the CPC Ningbo municipal committee.
Last year, the city was designated as 69 pilot zones, including the national inclusive finance reform pilot zone.
In addition, its move to establish an online platform for the closing of business entities has been promoted across Zhejiang.
In May, local authorities launched an online service platform that allows data sharing between involved departments. This has reduced the time it takes for enterprises to complete closure procedures from 86 days to 21 days.
The city was also one of only two places to be listed as a national cultural and financial cooperation demonstration zone last year.
Zhejiang also approved the establishment of the Ningbo Coordinated Innovation Zone of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in December last year.
The zone, which serves as an extension of the FTZ, is expected to become a center for international oil and gas resource allocation and a strategic hub for international trade.
Ningbo has also shown strong progress in industrial restructuring, and the service sector made up 54.2 percent of the city's economic output in 2019.
In addition, it has made significant headway reforming cooperation with 17 Central European countries involving insurance and a rural collective land rights system.
