The Ningbo branch of Deloitte Consulting (Shanghai) Co Ltd began operations on April 22. 

The branch is the first new facility to be established by Deloitte anywhere in the world since the COVID-19 outbreak.

Founded in 1833 in London, UK, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited has established a presence in more than 150 countries and regions worldwide, delivering a full range of audit and assurance, consulting, financial advising, risk advising and tax services. 

In 2019, the company's revenue was $46.2 billion, ranking first among the world's top four accounting firms for four consecutive years.

Zheng Shanjie, Party chief of Ningbo, met Zeng Shunfu, CEO of Deloitte China, on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for the branch in Ningbo. 

Zheng said that Ningbo's high-quality development is supported by high-level advisory agencies, intermediaries and think tanks.

He expressed hope that Deloitte will offer quality services to help local enterprises transform, upgrade, and carry out overseas mergers and acquisitions.

Zeng also said that Ningbo's congenial business climate is the prime reason that Deloitte decided to invest in the city, adding that the company will strengthen bilateral cooperation with Ningbo and contribute to the city's development through industrial upgrading and smart city construction. 

In June 2019, Ningbo reached an initial consensus with Deloitte, and in December Deloitte’s new branch completed business registration and set up operations in Haishu district.
