Ningbo announces plan to promote rural industrial vitalization

Ningbo, a city in East China's Zhejiang province, recently unveiled a plan to promote rural industrial vitalization.

According to the plan, the city will prioritize five agricultural sectors including fruit, tea, flowers, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Meanwhile, it also plans to develop its agricultural food processing and rural tourism industries. 

By 2025, the total industrial output in its rural areas is targeted to reach 400 billion yuan ($57.9 billion), and the city government is aiming for a an annual growth rate of two percent in its agricultural added value.

Agricultural labor productivity is expected to increase to 100,000 yuan per person, while per capita disposable income of rural residents shall reach 60,000 yuan.

The income ratio between urban and rural residents is also expected to shrink to about 1.7.
