The fourth session of the 15th Ningbo Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened in Ningbo, East China's province on April 26. 

A total of 454 political advisers attended the opening ceremony and will offer comprehensive consultations on the city's major political, economic, and social issues over the following three days. 

The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China and the CPPCC, said Yang Xubiao, chairman of the 15 Ningbo Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, adding that the committee has been actively contributing to the high quality development of Ningbo as a political advisory body. 

This year marks the last year of China's plan to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the last year of the 13th Five-year Plan (2016-20), he said, expressing hope that all members will double down on efforts to bolster the city's development and help turn it into a shining example of the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics in the new era. 

Yang called for more efforts to advance the modernization of urban governance and help the city achieve its goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

In 2019, a total of 645 proposals were submitted to the committee, among which 590 were accepted. To date, all the proposals have been answered. A total of 370 issues raised in the proposals have been resolved, while 204 are currently being resolved or are scheduled to be resolved. 

Local government leaders, including Zheng Shanjie, Party secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, and Qiu Dongyao, Mayor of the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, also attended the meeting.
