Location: Yuyao, a county-level city of Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province, sits on the south bank of the Yangtze River Delta. It is 40 kilometers away from downtown Ningbo and 120 kilometers away from Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang. To the north of the town is Hangzhou Bay, and to the south are the Siming Mountains.

Yuyao's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 7.9 percent year-on-year to 116.626 billion yuan ($16.9 billion) in 2019, according to preliminary statistics released by the local bureau of statistics.
In 2019, the city's industrial added value was 38.27 billion yuan, an increase of 10 percent over the previous year, 3.6 percentage points higher than the average for Ningbo. The city's growth rate has ranked first among all counties (cities and districts) in Ningbo for two consecutive years.
The city's per capita disposable income stood at 54,502 yuan, an increase of 8.8 percent over the previous year. Per capita disposable income among urban residents was 61,988 yuan, up 8.3 percent year-on-year, while the figure for rural residents was 36,811 yuan, an uptick of 8.9 percent.
