Location: Zhenhai district is located at the mouth of the Yongjiang River and bordered by the Zhoushan Archipelago to the east, Ningshao Plain to the west, Beilun Port to the south and Hangzhou Bay to the north. 

GDP: 102.16 billion yuan (2019) 

Permanent residents: 260,800 (2018)

Area: 246 square kilometers 

Economy: 

Zhenhai's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 7.1 percent year-on-year to 102.16 billion yuan ($14.8 billion) in 2019, according to a government report. 

In 2019, the district's industrial output above the designated size amounted to 250.7 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8 percent over the previous year. The city's growth rate ranked second among all counties, cities, and districts in Ningbo. 

Investments in fixed assets in Zhenhai soared 21.2 percent year-on-year, ranking first in the city. 

Per capita disposable income among its urban residents was 67,351 yuan, up 8.6 percent year-on-year, while the figure for rural residents was 37,767 yuan, an uptick of 9.6 percent. 

Administrative divisions: 

Yuyao governs five sub-districts and two towns — Zhaobaoshan sub-district, Jiaochuan sub-district, Luotuo sub-district, Guisi sub-district, Zhuangshi sub-district, Xiepu town and Jiulonghu town. 

Laurels: 

In January 2013, Zhenhai was listed as the nation's pilot area for smart city construction.

In October 2019, the district ranked 44th among the top 100 districts nationwide in terms of comprehensive economic strength.

That same year, it was selected among the top 100 districts in the country in terms of technical innovation and green development.
