The 2020 China (Ningbo) International Consumer Goods Fair was launched online on June 8 and is slated to run until June 14, according to local media reports.

The fair has attracted a total of 1,000 exhibitors from Zhejiang province, with exhibits ranging from gifts, stationery, ornaments, and kitchen utensils to sanitary equipment and daily necessities.

The online event serves as a replacement for the Second China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, which was expected to be held in Ningbo in June but had to be postponed until next year due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Unlike previous editions of the event, this year people will be able to tour some exhibition halls via a cloud exhibition platform powered by Alibaba Group.

The online fair will also be promoted on Alibaba's international marketplace to attract buyers from overseas.

The Ningbo municipal bureau of commerce also plans to arrange four matchmaking activities by partnering with international exhibition companies and offering foreign trade companies more opportunities to interact with overseas buyers.

Forty foreign buyers and 80 Ningbo suppliers will be invited to each activity to interact through video conferences.
