Ningbo and Hangzhou reached agreements on June 16 to advance cooperation in the digital economy and boost transport connectivity, according to local media reports. 

On that day, Zheng Shanjie, secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, met with Zhou Jiangyong, secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee.

Zheng said that the links between Hangzhou and Ningbo are important for bolstering Zhejiang's high-quality development and for promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.

He called for facilitating the development of the Hangzhou Bay area and strengthening bilateral cooperation in industrial chains, innovation, and urban governance.

The two parties should also make efforts to promote openness by the measures like hosting international exhibitions, Zheng said. 

Zhou called for coordinated efforts to accelerate infrastructure connectivity and deepen industrial cooperation in the development of the Hangzhou Bay.

Efforts should be made to share talent and public service resources such as education, medical care, and government administration, he said.
