Six foreign students studying at Ningbo University were invited to promote the wares at a local fruit wholesale market on June 24.

Wearing red waistcoats, the students were all from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

In addition to the fruit promotion, they also visited a fruit testing center and participated in a symposium to exchange fruit culture with local fruit dealers.

The event came as part of a series of events sponsored by Ningbo University to help international students grasp a full picture of China and enhance their understanding and recognition of Chinese society.

The person in charge of the Ningbo Fruit Wholesale Market said that the fruit market has seen a great improvement in popularity after its relocation at the end of last year. 

He believes that the foreign students' endorsement will further help improve the market's service quality.

As a starting point of the ancient maritime silk road, Ningbo has been designated a comprehensive pilot zone for the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
