The 23rd China Fishing Season Festival is slated to be held in Xiangshan county, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, in September.
The festival marks the start of a new fishing season.
On Sept 16, a grand ceremony worshipping the sea goddess Mazu will be held in hope for a bountiful harvest during the upcoming fishing season.
That day, thousands of fishing boats, accompanied by thunderous gong and drum beats, will set sail from the Shipu fishery port.
In addition, the festival will see an array of online events be held to promote local rich tourism and fishery resources on video-sharing platforms such as Douyin and online marketplaces like Taobao and JD.com.
Serving as preludes to the festival, a variety of events such as sea fishing activities and concerts have already launched in Xiangshan earlier this month.
