A light show revolving around Chu Shu, or End of Heat, the 14th solar term of the year, is set to be staged at Sanjiangkou, a commercial block in downtown Ningbo, from Aug 21 to 22.

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. End of Heat begins this year on Aug 22, which implies that most parts in China are approaching the end of the hot summer and entering autumn.

Scheduled to be staged from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm, the light show is among a series of animations developed by the city to mark the 24 solar terms throughout the year.

Li Xia, vice director of the Ningbo municipal facilities research institute, said that the show, which will be accompanied by serene music, will also include 3D pictures and elements like local food, folk customs, and poetry.

According to the municipal bureau of urban management, this light show is part of a series of shows that will be staged at Sanjiangkou to mark each solar term throughout the year.
