Ningbo to host 2020 World Digital Economy Conference in Sept

The 2020 World Digital Economy Conference & 10th China Smart City and Intelligent Economy Expo are slated to be held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province from Sept 10 to 13, according to local media reports.

The four-day event will include a main forum, over 10 sub-forums and an expert consultation session, with a number of esteemed scholars and experts exploring such topics as 5G, big data, blockchain, smart manufacturing, industrial internet and digital governance.

Attendees will include academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as business leaders from tech giants such as Alibaba, Netease and Hikvision.

For the first time, a competiveness report on electronic information enterprises in 2020 compiled by the China Information Technology Industry Federation will be released during the main forum. 

In addition to meetings, an expo with roughly 200 enterprises including Huawei, Tencent and Inspur showcasing their latest technologies, is set to be held.

It will be divided into four sections focusing on digital economy, smart manufacturing, intelligent city and digital technologies respectively.

The expo has been held in Ningbo every year since its inception in 2011 and has become a significant platform promoting cooperation and exchange in smart city construction and intelligent economy in China. 

To mark the 10th anniversary of the expo, a special display zone will be erected to showcase Ningbo's accomplishments in software and digital governance. 

A series of national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship activities will be held on the sidelines of the expo as well.
