Ningbo role models in combating COVID-19 commended in Beijing

A meeting commending role models in the country's fight against the COVID-19 epidemic was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sept 8.

Four individuals from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang received the honorary title of "outstanding individual" in the battle against COVID-19. 

Among them was Ruan Liemin, Party secretary of Ningbo No 1 People's Hospital and head of the Ningbo medical team sent to Wuhan, Hubei province. 

Ruan revealed at a conference on March 31 that the medical team from the city offered medical support in Wuhan for 51 days, during which time they admitted 173 patients, 158 of whom recovered and were discharged from the hospital, with no team members being infected. 

The other three outstanding individuals were Zhu Guozhi, a police officer at the Jiangxia police station of the Haishu branch of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Public Security, Zhu Hongming, secretary of the Party branch of Dagang residential community in Beilun district, and Fu Pingjun, Party secretary of Tengtou village in Fenghua district.

Zhu was also honored as a National Excellent Communist Party Member. 

Meanwhile, the Lingfeng residential committee, Daqi sub-district, Beilun district was recognized as an outstanding group in the anti-virus battle.
