China's largest angling ship, Qionglinyu 03399, underwent a trial run in the sea near Shipu Port in Xiangshan county, Ningbo on Sept 10, according to local media reports.

The 1,077-ton ship measures 68.6 meters in length, 10.8 meters in width, and 4.7 meters in height and has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles.

It houses 74 beds, 49 fishing spots, and advanced communication and navigation facilities, costing 20 million yuan ($2.89 million) in total.

Unlike large-scale sea fishing, angling is often described as "golf on the sea" and does little damage to marine ecological resources.

In order to ensure the freshness of seafood, the ship is equipped with a refrigeration system, and facilities such as kitchen fittings and grills are also available to cook the freshly caught fish on site.
